The virus came to the world and we ignored it, the virus came to countries near us, we ignored it, and now, we are facing the consequences. The rapid rise in cases is due to the delay in actions taken by the government. From 0 cases in the end of March to just the mid of April, we have are about to cross 10000 cases. If not stringently controlled it can easily rise up to 100,000 cases .Punjab is On the Top with having more than 4,500 cases Sindh is on the number second with having more than 3,000 Cases. On the other hand of covid19, cases are pretty low in Kp, Balochistan, Ajk, Gb and Islamabad , cases in these provinces are below 1,000 right now . The cases in Sindh were much more than Punjab in the start but Sindh’s early lockdown showed results and the rise in cases per day decreased while that of Punjab kept increasing. This shows the importance of a strict lockdown for some time. The people of Punjab, especially in Lahore have also not taken the disease seriously so they have to be controlled by force.
On the other hand, Imran Khans delay in announcing a lockdown is also due to our already failing economy, a lockdown puts much stress in the country’s economy. Especially for workers who earn daily wages to businessman, lockdown means 0 income, and they will have to survive on their savings, which was already impossible due to inflation in our country.
Government should also fund universities and institutes to fund the developing of testing kits locally and to find cure for corona, if we are able to do this, the situation will come under control very quickly
Government has taken many steps in this regard, but the problem as always is that no one is monitoring them accurately and resources are being depleted.
Government should also use the falling oil market to their advantage by creating oil storing facilities and buy cheap oil for latest use. This will give a big boom to our economy when the situation gets better.
We as citizens should also take this situation seriously, limit our outdoor trips to only when required, not hold social gathering, wear masks and gloves and use hand sanitizer. As it’s said nowadays “the virus doesn’t come inside your house unless you bring it in “
Ramadan is about to come and many religious people would want to pray in mosques but they should be made aware of the problems it will cause, it will be dangerous for them and their families.
Awareness about the consequences of the disease and how to prevent ourselves from spreading it, should be given across the countries, specially to the villages where the people are uneducated or do not have access to television and social media
If we all follow the proper rules and take proper precautions. I truly believe we can minimize the spread and flatten the curve of infections, Insha’Allah
