Across Pakistan, smartphones are spreading at a blistering speed. By 2020, according to GSMA, 51% of Pakistanis are expected to own smartphones. This will happen in the same country where 48% of children cannot read a simple sentence by the time they complete primary education in public schools.
Our mission is simple: to use technology to bridge this divide and provide engaging, high quality digital education to the masses.
For the past four years, we have brought the national curriculum to life through animated videos and interactive quizzes. This digital education, named Taleemabad—Urdu for city of education—has found its way to over 90,000 children all across Pakistan, from Kashmir in the north to Gwadar in the south. By 2020, the app is expected to reach 1 million children all across the country.
We dream and work towards a day where world class education can rest at the finger tips of every child, rich or poor, urban or rural all across Pakistan.
