We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VoIP System Engineer to join our team at a VoIP service solutions company. As a VoIP System Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Asterisk, Free PBX, Vicidial, and related VoIP software platforms. Your expertise in both the back-end and front-end processes of these systems, as well as your knowledge of protocols, will be instrumental in providing excellent service to our global call center clients.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Asterisk, Free PBX, Vicidial, and other VoIP software platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system functionality, call quality, and network connectivity.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VoIP systems with existing infrastructure and applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and clients, assisting with inquiries, problem resolution, and system enhancements.
- Conduct regular system audits and apply necessary updates, patches, and security measures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for VoIP systems and protocols.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in VoIP technology and recommend improvements or optimizations to enhance system performance and reliability.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a VoIP System Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Asterisk, Free PBX, and Vicidial.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, TCP/IP) and experience with codec selection and transcoding.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including system administration and command-line interface.
- Familiarity with telephony concepts, call routing, IVR systems, and call center technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
- Experience in network configuration, routing, and firewall rules pertaining to VoIP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Asterisk Certified Professional, FreePBX Certified, VICIdial Certified) are a plus.
