Position Summary:
As an Assistant Accountant at Excellence Solutions Inc., you will play a crucial role within our BPM Financial Services Operations and Delivery department. We are looking for a fully qualified ACCA or a part-qualified CA who is eager to learn and contribute to our partner’s success. This role offers an opportunity to work directly with our partner’s, a Toronto based Accounting & Tax Practice. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various segments including, but not limited to bookkeeping, corporate tax structuring, financial reporting, and ad-hoc tasks.
Please note - Theideal candidate will be working and reporting to the Senior Partner of the Accounting and Tax Practice. This Senior Partner comes with a wealth of North American BIG 4 experience. The candidate will support the Senior Partner in day-to-day operations, and hence requires a high level of professionalism and English language skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial documentation
- Corporate Tax Structuring: Collaborate with the team to analyze tax implications and help with annual filings and develop tax-efficient strategies
- Working with Partners: Work closely with our partners to support their day-to-day operational needs and provide relevant ad-hoc support
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Financial Analysis: Assist in financial analysis to support decision-making processes
- Ad Hoc: Work on ad-hoc activities to assist the senior partner in daily tasks
Job Specification
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience within a professional services firm in Assurance (Audit), Tax (GAAP) or industry experience in Financial Reporting
- Fully qualified ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountant) or part qualified CA (Chartered Accountant)
- Familiarity with Accounting Regulations, Standards & Principles – IFRS and GAAP
- Detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy, and strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Proficiency in English is a MUST

- Microsoft Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- High degree of professionalism and eagerness to learn
- Working knowledge of accounting software like Caseware or Countable etc.
- Fluency in the English language is a prerequisite – Verbal & Written
