The Role
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Procurement Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of parts and equipment necessary for the manufacturing of products both inhouse and outsourced. They will also be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers and ensuring that all manufacturing processes are carried out in accordance with specifications and given timeline.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Following are the key responsibilities that the hired candidate will be expected to perform:
- Procure parts, equipment, and raw materials required for the manufacturing of inhouse and outsourced products.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Work with the design and engineering teams to ensure that products can be manufactured effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes are carried out in accordance with specifications.
- Create and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Continuously search for new suppliers and materials to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, delivery times, and other terms.
- Manage all aspects of product testing and quality control.
- Develop check sheets based on drawings for quality testing at source.
Qualification, Experience and Skills required
Following are the required qualification, experience and skills required to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience in SOLIDWORKS and ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail.
