IP Solution Architect

The IP Solutions Architect role develops the architecture for the IP network infrastructure and develop high level solutions as per customer’s requirements.

The incumbent in this position will work closely with other architects, engineers, business engagement, and project managers to understand stakeholder requirements, developing high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with business needs, establishing technical standards and drive overall solution architectures, engineering practices, and methodologies.

The IP Solutions Architect must create a solution including service level, availability, continuity, suppliers, security and capacity management and with relevant teams to clarify the requirements. He/She will need to consider several resources (budgets, infrastructures, platforms, applications, information, and people) and capabilities (management, partners, products, organization, processes, knowledge, and people).

The IP Solutions Architect will be required to lead or participate in the creation and evaluation of tenders for IP equipment. In some cases, he/she will develop and present recommendations on tender outcomes to senior management for approval. The IP Solutions Architect may also be required to assist in the technical evaluation of tenders run by other groups to provide input on the IP aspects of the evaluation

The Ideal Candidate should have/be:

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in the network designing and systems administration
• Understanding of IP service implementation in networks, including Internet, IP-VPN, E-VPN and VoIP
• Understanding of software defined networking (SDN) including OpenFlow, Netconf, YANG, PCEP etc.
• Experience at identifying strengths and weaknesses of different technologies and architectures.
• Capable of presenting the designed solution and further refinement as per customer needs.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for architecting the next generation IP and data transport network architecture leveraging networking experience
• Interpret requirements and aligning these to business and technology strategies, policies and enterprise architectures
• Improved business flexibility delivered via a clear framework, defined structure, and standards. improve availability, reliability and security of mission critical services
• Consider resources (including budgets, infrastructures, platforms, applications, information, and people) and capabilities (including management, partners, products, organization, processes, knowledge, and people), in the development of their end to end solutions
• Communicate complex multi-discipline technology problems and recommended solutions to a diverse audience
• Lead or participate in the creation and evaluation of tenders, developing and presenting recommendations to senior management for approval
• Mentor, assist and plan technical training of engineers and colleagues
• Expert Level of understanding/Implementation of Routing, Switching and Security.
• Responsible for covering all aspects of active and passive parts of solution designed.
• Interacting with OEM for verification of BOQ/Solution made using OEM configuration.
• To ensure that appropriate and cost effective solution should be proposed to customer and to get the same vetted from the principal before quoting.
• Creating opportunities for POC for identified prospects and delivering. At least 3 POC for each quarter
• Identification of new customers, at least 5 customers in a month.
• Preparation of realistic forecast and closing at least 25% of projected customers.
• Ensure before ordering the equipment to principal that the ordered equipment is as per customer order and complete in all respect.
• Sends proposal through concern account manager and follow up for confirmation of order.
• Prepares and implements daily action plan for himself.
• Prepares month end reports for dispatch to HO on time.

• Upgrading his own and team skills by acquiring OEM certifications.
