Senior GIS Developer

Magma Systems is part of TPL Holdings and we are looking for a Senior GIS Developer to join our superstar GIS Team in Islamabad

You must be able to:

Develop application and services using ESRI technologies stack such as ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS JS, ArcSDE etc

Work on solutions for spatio-temporal data access and management of large datasets that are persisted in a database or distributed file system

In addition to traditional overall development and architect responsibilities you will be responsible for unstructured information across platforms i.e., flat files with live data etc and traditional sources such as relational databases, and SharePoint

Should have knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, and Oracle

Interact with other team members to develop robust software frameworks and solutions

Ability to work independently and in groups to effectively participate in the software development life cycle

Integrating applications and performing data migrations

Build software components that follow industry-standard modern design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models

Must have prior experience building spatial/mapping applications or software components (GIS)

Demonstrated experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Access, ArcGIS Experience may be gained overtime

Experience with AJAX, JSON, REST Server, SQL Server, Java, Python

Knowledge of clustering solutions such as Hadoop, Open Source platforms & tooling

Good understanding of cloud computing platforms and services such as Amazon S3, SQS, EC2 and Azure services such as Blob Service, Table Service, etc will be very advantageous

Providing leadership in software quality, maintainability and extensibility through the use of best practices in design, coding, unit and integration testing

Demonstrated ability to organize own work, and prioritize multiple project commitments

Understanding of object-oriented design, relational and non-relational databases, clustering and data modeling principles Commitment to quality, including thorough testing of own work products

Ability to articulate complex technical problems in layman’s language to a non-technical audience

Ability to write system documentation for software applications in clear, straightforward language
