We are a USA based property rental company looking for a motivated and qualified individual to join our accounting department as a Property Accountant. As a part of our team, you will be working 100% remotely from your location responsible for managing and monitoring daily accounting operations for rental properties. Your daily duties will include preparing, analyzing, and maintaining account records and transactions, such as credit memos, invoices, tenant billing, and cash receipts. You will also assist in the annual preparation of documentation, audits, and filling processes.
As a Property Accountant, you will be mainly responsible for ensuring all accounting information and annual business plans are completed accurately and within a deadline. To be successful in this position, you should have amazing verbal and written communication, as well as analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
Property Accountant Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform daily accounting operations on rental properties
Maintain records of received tenants’ rent
Conduct account reconciliation to verify tenant statements
Conduct research and audits to confirm tenants’ inquiries
Accomplish general ledger entries and manage cash balances
Review and analyze accounts records, such as credit memos, invoices, tenant billings, and cash receipts
Provide and issue tenant statements of properties to update owners on revenue and expenditures
Check input information for property and tenant lease to ensure it’s accurate
Analyze forecasts to identify cash deficiencies
Monitor rental notices at the beginning of a new budget operating year
Assist in the preparation of documents for annual audits and tax filling processes
Analyze transactions and identify relevant accounting treatment
Create journal entries to track all income statements and expenses
Ensure all accounting information and annual business plans are completed accurately and within a deadline
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a related field
Previous working experience in general accounting or estate property accounting
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) knowledge Preferred
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel) and experience with accounting software (Quickbooks, MRI)
Written and verbal communication skills
