Job Description:
Position: Accountant
Location: Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
2. Analyze financial data and provide management with accurate and timely reports for decision-making purposes
3. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulations
4. Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries
5. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and payment processing
6. Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance profitability
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
8. Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, including variance analysis and reporting
9. Provide support during audits, prepare audit schedules, and liaise with external auditors
10. Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance
1. Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
2. Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
4. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
5. Strong organizational and time management skills
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
8. Knowledge of Brunei tax laws and regulations is a plus
