Translation Empire is seeking a Transcriptionist to transcribe surveys, meetings, and sensitive information into written format for documentation. We are looking for a Transcriptionist with minimum 12 months Full Time experience as a Transcriber, who can accurately transcribe English Audio into Text. The ideal candidate must have exemplary listening skills as you will be listening to a variety of materials which may include different English accents and subject specific terminology. You must have superb typing skills and be able to focus for a long period of time. In addition, you will have the skills to translate documents from Urdu Into English and vice versa.
Main Responsibilities:
- Must be able to transcribe 65-70 minutes of audio/video in a working day
- Transcribing the Audio/Video files in Text format.
- Making sure the accuracy of the source file is maintained throughout the text transcript.
- Transcribing English Audio Files into Text based on the type of transcript required and understanding allmodes of transcription for example:
- Strict Verbatim Transcription
- Intelligent Verbatim Transcription
- Edited Transcription
- Phonetic Transcription
- Discourse Analysis
- Undergoing training to stay up to date with the latest transcribing trends and methods.
- Adhering to the guidelines provided by the clients.
- Strictly following the formatting instructions in the transcript file, as described by the company.
- Assuring & Conducting Quality Control on Audio Transcripts for Accuracy of the final product.
- Completing and submitting the files within the allocated time per file.
- Have translated at least 20,000 words in a professional context.
- Ensuring translated text entails original meaning and tone.
- Proofreading translations and ensuring the data is free of errors.
Additional Responsibilities:
When not conducting Audio Transcription work, the candidate will be required to carry out the following additional tasks and responsibilities:
- Recruiting and onboarding Translators (Various skills i.e., Written Translation, Voiceover, Transcribers etc.).
- Recruiting and onboarding Vendors (Vendors are other Translating Agencies, registering them in our database).
- Conduct translation of documents from English to Urdu and Urdu to English.
- Carry out Interpreting work as and when required.
Requirements & Skills:
- Firm grasp on the fundamentals of transcription and its various types.
- Knowledge of the different types of Transcription Services such as: Strict Verbatim Transcription, Intelligent Verbatim Transcription, Edited Transcription, Phonetic Transcription and Discourse Analysis.
- Exceptional English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to thoroughly & understand the British accent i.e., Scottish and Welsh Accents.
- Time management skills.
- Having ample knowledge of the workings of Audio / Video Transcription software i.e. Otter AI
- Ability to cope with large volumes of work.
- Transcribers have above-average typing skills, so between 60 and 80 words per minute typing speed is preferred.
- Ability to transcribe an hour of audio in two to three hours, accurately.
- Experience in Translating Documents from Urdu into English and vice versa.
- Candidates with Urdu typing expertise will be preferred.

- Experience in translating documents.
- Ability to cope with pressured situations and deadlines.
Qualification Required:
- Formal Education in English Language/Literature
- Must have the IELTS Highest level
- Must have degree in Linguistics / English
