Architects perform professional scientific work to conceptualize, plan, develop and implement designs for a wide variety of structures and facilities, including office buildings, branches, Head Office, Regional Offices using architectural design standards, codes, and practices, as well as creativity, to extend or modify architectural methods or techniques. Candidate ensure that structures are responsive to the unique needs of advanced research, structurally sound, aesthetically pleasing, and economical to operate and maintain. Professional architectural work requires knowledge of architectural theories, concepts, methods, and techniques; creative and artistic sense; and the understanding and skill to use aspects of construction, engineering, and physical science related to the design and construction of new or the improvement of existing buildings.
Candidates Plans, designs, and furnishes interior environments of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings: Confers with client to determine architectural preferences, purpose and function of environment, budget, types of construction, equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments. Advises client on interior design factors, such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination. Renders design ideas in form of paste ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimates material requirements and costs, and presents design to client for approval. Selects or designs and purchases furnishings, art works, and accessories. Subcontracts fabrication, installation, and arrangement of carpeting, fixtures, accessories, draperies, paint and wall coverings, art work, furniture, and related items. May plan and design interior environments for boats, planes, buses, trains, and other enclosed spaces. May specialize in particular field, style, or phase of interior design. The ability to work well with others is also a must. As an interior designer, you will communicate with clients to assess what they want and need in a space, and then present your ideas for meeting those goals in a compelling way. Your responsibilities also include coordinating with architects, electricians, plumbers and others to complete the job in a timely and cost-effective manner.
