PHP Laravel Developer

Collective is recruiting a team of PHP Laravel developers on behalf of a multinational with extensive global operations, offering a highly competitive salary.

The developer will be responsible for:

1. Developing, maintaining, troubleshooting and bugfixing a Laravel and Lumen application with a MySQL backend
2. Develop detailed software design and document requirements (including conduct an SRA)
3. Develop code with unit tests and conduct requirements testing
4. Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, bugfix and provide support for the application
5. Technical documentation of technical specifications, outlining in detail the variables, functions and methods used including a step by step explanation of the code
6. Coordinate with higher management, including logging project information daily and filing reports, including being on-call for any consultation
7. Develop comprehensive end-user documentation and training materials, including screencast/screenrecorded walkthroughs, step by step tutorials

The ideal candidate should:

1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in CS, Software Engineering or a relevant field, including a mastery of programming, UI/UX design, customization of software and relevant skills. Experienced candidates without a degree may be considered
2. 5+ years of development in PHP (or a cumulative experience equal to 5 years), with 3+ yrs of experience exclusively developing Laravel applications. Candidates with extensive experience with Symfony may also be considered.
3. Have excellent development and architecture skills a solid grasp of web development, specifically in PHP, mainly in Laravel and its various frameworks and libraries such as Lumen
4. Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js will be plus
5. Have an excellent grasp over various internet technologies and tools
6. Experienced in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, web services and APIs
7. Experience in databases, specifically with MySQL, database design and database optimization
8. Familiar with the LAMP stack and deployment environments. Experience with deploying applications in the cloud (e.g. Amazon EC2) will be a plus
9. Knowledge of object oriented programming and software development life cycle best practices, as well as extensive analytical and troubleshooting skills
10. Familiar with dependency/package managers, templating engines and ORM
11. Experienced in the MVC architectural pattern (or any derivative thereof)
12. Familiar with software testing, particular unit testing (e.g. PHPUnit)
13. Familiar with version control/source control systems (e.g. Git, Svn, TFS etc) and platforms (Github, Visual Studio Online, Bitbucket etc)
14. Familiar with bugtrackers/issue trackers
15. Solid technical documentation skills
16. Portfolio of live/demoable applications will be a plus
