Job Description
1. Plan division and department sales, markdown, OTB and margin levels.
2. Provide buying guidelines to Debenhams UK team.
3. Make recommendations on the promotional calendar and sale strategy.
4. Recommend optimum space management options based on store trends/department sales density.
5. Recommend retail pricing levels, and sale and markdown percentage.
6. Develop strong communication links between the Business Manager and UK merchandise in order to potentialize and drive the business forward.
7. Recommend and formulate any trading events and ensure relevant collateral is produced and available to create strong projection.
8. Maintain and upkeep IT systems in order to carry out the necessary functions needed to complete the processes.
9. Coach and develop team members to ensure the skills base is effective.
10. Ensure optimum lead time versus cost on logistics to drive profit opportunity.
11. Maintain commercial approach/awareness by visiting competitors on a regular basis.
12. Control of Stockflow/Replenishment.
13. Understand and work with currency hedging costs.
14. Manage and influence underground offers - MPO's
15. Advise and manage size ratios requirements.
Job Specification
1. Proven experience in a commercial environment, preferably a retail brand
2. IT literate in various applications.
3. Strong analytical/ attention to detail approach
4. Evidence of strong planning skills.
5. Well organised, with a flexible approach.
6. An understanding of retail trends.
7. An understanding of merchandising tools and practices.
8. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. A team player both locally and remotely.
10. English speaking.
