Senior Software Engineer

As a senior software engineer, you will be an important member of our interdisciplinary project teams working at various client sites, building or enhancing complex applications in the digital domain. You will use your skills and experience to teach others and take advantage of opportunities to learn and improve your own skill sets.

• Your job will involve working closely with clients to develop, test, and ship software that meets their needs while also solving complex software challenges
• You will initiate development, carry out scoping estimations, implement architecture designs and write architecture documents
• You will use your talents in software development, application architecture, design thinking and problem solving to help create rapid prototypes and enable the rapid acceleration of ideas
• You will have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to manage client projects and build a high performing engineering team that consistently exceeds expectations
• You will also work closely with project teams and business stakeholders and provide technical expertise that enables innovation

You will also be invited to take part in R&D works done within our Practices. You will have the chance to assist or be a speaker at must-attend international IT conferences.

In addition, you will contribute to the social, environmental and purpose driven objectives and initiatives of Henka in order to positively impact our environment, customers, communities and ourselves as an organization and individual.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in backend software development in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript/Typescript or ReactJS, Angular
• You have used design patterns like MVP, MVC or MVVM and you know when to use which
• You have working experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• You have a thorough knowledge of CI/CD of full-stack applications, including practice with automated testing frameworks like Selenium, Jasmine or similar tools
• You have identified and resolved performance and scalability issues
• You have working experience with API design techniques and know how to keep them maintainable
• Having hands-on experience in native Android or iOS development is a plus
• You have professional experience working in an agile development environment
• You have strong communication skills and like making decisions
• You value high quality code; best practices and you want to satisfy your thirst for knowledge of the latest technologies every day
• You are a creative individual with deep technological expertise, business acumen and software development background. You must be able to communicate well with both internal and external parties with a good sense of idealism and pragmatism
• You have done recruitment and have led/mentored an engineering team
• You are familiar with Agile Methodologies, Scrum, Kanban, and interested in learning more about Design Thinking, Lean Start-up, TDD, BDD, or XP
