Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities in Relation to Staff
o The Vice-Principal shall be responsible for the supervision and general
discipline of his/her section.
o The Vice-Principal shall allocate duties in his/her section, after
discussing and determining the duties with the Principal and staff in
his/her section so that a spirit of mutual goodwill and co-operation will
prevail in his/her section and the school.
o The Vice-Principal shall convene staff meetings regularly to maintain
a high level of communication in his/her section.
o The Vice-Principal shall report all cases of teacher absence and work
with the Principal to arrange for any necessary substitute teacher to
replace the teacher temporarily absent from duty.
o The Vice-Principal has the authority to release any teacher from duty
prior to the end of the operational day for that operational day but
should notify the Principal of all such instances
Job Specification
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
o The Vice-Principal shall assist the Principal in preparing estimates of
school needs by evaluating instructional strategies in his/her section
and selecting textbooks, technology materials, library books and other
materials and equipment of the annual school budget.
o The Vice-Principal is responsible for the accurate completion and
prompt forwarding through the Principal, all forms, records and
reports relating to his/her section including half-term reports from Key
Stage Co-ordinators, Heads of Departments, Counsellors and Mentors,
summaries and interpretation of data analysis that are required by the
Council.
o The Vice-Principal shall be required to devise and maintain such
records and reports as are necessary to the successful execution of the
job.
The Vice-Principal is responsible for the prompt transmission of
official bulletins and information to staff members in his/her section.
o The Vice-Principal is responsible for the evaluation of staff assigned to
his/her section including care-taking staff in accordance with in
accordance with the Governing Council Staff Evaluation Policy.
o The Vice-Principal has direct responsibility to the Principal for all
school property under his/her jurisdiction.
