Job Description

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Provide 24x7 support services within the IT Security Operations Center (SOC). These individuals will provide user and system support for all the IT Security services and the underlying infrastructure. Their daily tasks include managing ServiceNow ticket queues whereby they make necessary changes to the environment based on the user requests e.g. Firewall policy changes, real time traffic monitoring, IPS/IDS monitoring, Website and online web service traffic monitoring, user authentication support for Kerberos, etc. Additionally, the same individuals will be supporting system health and monitoring for our existing infrastructure. The daily tasks include monitoring associated alerts, reviewing, resolving, escalating and recording events associated with this environment. The same individuals are part of customer facing group that is fronted by a 24x7 hotline, serving as a global support service for IT Security, as a whole.
The technical aspects of the position include:
Provide hotline support through the IT Security Hotline- a customer facing phone line for security issues.
Implementing customer requests for all IT SecurityProducts and Services (e.g. Firewalls, Kerberos, Security Alerts,Investigations, website, online payment services, etc.).
Monitoring and troubleshooting of IT Security'sPerimeter Infrastructure technologies (Firewalls: PIX, Netscreen.Authentication Servers: 3sc Technologies Cyber Security Products,etc).
Initial troubleshooting of network connectivityproblems.
Supplement existing, or develop documentation as the environment is modified.
Creation/supplementation of Operational Runbooks.
The non-technical aspects of the position include:
Coordinating and leading the response to technology problems
Outage Management: investigation, communication, triage and escalation

Job Specification

echnical skills:
Possess proven track record of success in an Operations Center.
Minimum 3 years experience in Networking. Knowledge of Software development and scripting would be plus but not required ornecessary.
Knowledge of networking (e.g. OSI layers + functions +devices)
In depth understanding of IP protocols including IP,TCP, UDP, FTP, DNS, ARP
Unix Systems administration experience.
Hands on experience in configuring and troubleshootingFirewall security devices (Cisco PIX, fortinet Juniper NetScreen,IPFilter, IP Tables)
Understands packet filtering and stateful packetinspection and the differences between them
Intermediate to advanced understanding of packetcapture and analysis using snoop, tcpdump, Ethereal or similartools.
Customer support experience and interacting withservice members of the networking, e-business, UNIX, and PC groups in fourmajor metropolitan regions across the globe.
Willing to work in shifts and weekends since this is a24/7 working environment.
ITIL v3 Foundation certified - A must
