The Solar Engineer will be responsible for identifying opportunities within an assigned territory and implementing strategies to capture market share in the region; conducting site surveys for Solar System designs for Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural sectors; recommending optimal Solar System designs; creating drawings for the proposed systems; preparing proposals, bid documents, quotations, and contracts; specifying materials, scheduling, and organizing the system installations; and commissioning of solar power systems and preparing project completion reports.
The Solar Engineer will also assist in other project management and operational management duties as required. He/she should have ability to advise during project construction and manage multiple projects and perform system commissioning and startup tests.
Prior solar industry experience is strongly preferred.
Project management experience is preferred.
Ability to identify market opportunities within an assigned region, and develop strategies to penetrate those markets.
Experience in vendor selection and coordination.
Can make cold calls to current and potential customers and set appointments to create sales opportunities and provide outstanding customer support.
Excellent negotiation skills are preferred.
Field construction experience in both electrical and mechanical installations.
Operational command of balance of system components (i.e. inverters, mounting structure, conductors/interconnect, switching/fusing).
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent presentation skills are required.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, MS Project, AutoCAD drafting skills, etc.
Proficiency in compiling data and write project completion reports.
