Pros:

Akhter is the first and leading PV module manufacturing company in Pakistan. Its state of the art manufacturing facility ranked on top among four manufacturers of PV modules in Pakistan. It has a manufacturing capability of about 30 MW per year which is the highest manufacturing capacity in Pakistan. Its R&D facility in head office in UK always give edge in bringing new innovations in solar industry like new state of the art solar street light and solar highway light is ranked top in the world with unique features. It has professional staff with expertise in solar industry provides satisfaction to its customers. It has excellent backup services. I ranked Akhter on the top in solar industry of Pakistan.

Cons:

Due to high quality products manufacturing cost is very high therefore price of the products is higher than the market normal price. As import of PV modules is free of duties and taxes in Pakistan therefore the price is slightly lower in market as compared to Akhter's Price. Akhter is also lacking of good marketing strategy along with good relationships with its stakeholders. It is targeting only 10% of its customers due to its inadequate policies. Its dealers and distributors network is very small as compared to its competitors. It has a small installation team usually able to handle only one installation order at a time.

Advice to Management:

Pakistani national CEO with UK nationality is living in UK for last 42 years he makes decisions according to UK market. He has to change his policies by looking at Pakistan's business environment. Production cost with shall be controlled with minimum profit to bring cheep products in the market. Akhter shall introduce low quality products with cheep price along with its already high quality products to capture whole solar market. Marketing strategy shall be changed and there shall be some advertisement for its products. Focus shall be on complete solar market not on selected customers. Dealers and distributors network shall be increased all over Pakistan.
