Job Description
Act as Level 1 support in handling issues on Linux and Windows servers, both physical and virtual.
Responsible for monitoring and proactive issue resolution within the remote Linux and Windows server infrastructure.
Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user computing environment, but not limited to Linux and Windows.
Responsible for user creation, password resets and other system administration functions.
Responsible for patching and hardening of Linux and Windows servers.
Answer, evaluate, log, and prioritize all helpdesk requests.
Resolve helpdesk requests or escalate complex issues to appropriate team members.
Manage backup and recovery of server environments using various backup techniques.
Design and Establish Network connectivity.
Troubleshoot end user connectivity issues (VPN, Remote Desktop, Ftp, SSH etc).
Identify and document reoccurring issues and present solutions to management.
Create and maintain technical and procedural documentation.

Linux server administration
DNS administration
Vsftpd/Proftpd, Apache, MySql, Squid, Sendmail, Iptables
Windows server administration
IIS6/7, MSSQL and Active Directory administration
CCNA
Special Skills and Abilities Required
5-7 years strong administration experience with Linux and Ms-Windows
Proven experience with TCP IP and other networking protocols
Experience with configuring SAN attached devices
Excellent communication/customer Service Skills
DNS Experience
Good understanding of VM technology
Experience in an environment with various configurations of Unix and Linux
Strong documentation skills
